One year after making Google Meet available to everyone, the video conferencing application is proposing several new features to improve its platform. These changes will take place on the design of the interface, by creating animated backgrounds but also on the use of artificial intelligence to improve the quality of the video. The Autozoomtool and the low light mode are the new AI-based features.
Artificial intelligence to enhance video quality
Two tools have been developed using artificial intelligence. They will have the particularity to improve the quality of video conferencing as far as video is concerned:- The first tool is the low light mode. This feature is based on a mode actually already present on Google Meet on phone. AI is used to automatically adjust the quality of the video to make our face and the environment around us, much more visible to our interlocutor. The feature is now available on computer, with the brightness automatically improving.
- The second tool is called Autozoom. This device uses AI to allow users to benefit from an automatic zoom when positioned in front of its camera if the decision algorithm considers that the user is placed a little too far from the camera and he can hardly advance further. This feature will nevertheless be paid for by those who wish to take advantage of it.
