The sector in detail

Artificial intelligence plays a major role in optimising energy production.

Energy producers have long used predictive models intended to adjust energy production according to demand. This is all the more important in a field such as electricity, whose storage faces real efficiency problems. Any energy produced in excess therefore results in losses. Two main challenges stand out: being able to predict as far in advance as possible, and being able to adapt as quickly as possible, in real time where feasible.

Predicting energy consumption.

Electricity consumption can vary according to many factors: seasonal, meteorological, cyclical. This is why ever finer models must be developed.

Predicting electricity production.

The production of green energy varies greatly according to the weather. That of wind turbines according to the wind, that of dams according to rainfall, that of solar panels according to sunshine.. These variations of course have an impact on the production of thermal and nuclear energy.
