Artificial Intelligence in the service of insurance: Matmut Group announces a partnership with Zelros

At the end of February, the Matmut group, one of the leaders of the insurance market in France, announced its partnership with Zelros, an independent B2B software publisher developing Artificial Intelligence for the insurance and banking insurance industries. Zelros will allow Matmut to optimize the relationship between its advisors and its members.

The Matmut Group

The Matmut group (Mutuelle Assurance des Travailleurs Mutalistes) was created in 1961 by Paul Bennetot, to offer a mutualist and non-lucrative alternative to private sector employees to insure their vehicle. Today, with more than 4 million members and 7.6 million insurance policies under management, the Group is a major player in the French insurance market. It offers a complete range of personal and property insurance products (car, motorcycle, boat, home, liability, family protection, health, legal protection and assistance) and financial and savings services (car loans, project, loan insurance, savings books, life insurance, etc.). The Matmut Group currently has 6,400 employees.

Zelros

Founded in 2016 in Paris by Christophe Bourguignat, Fabien Vauchelles and Damien Philippon, Zelros has offices also in Munich, Milan and Montreal. The publisher specializing in Artificial Intelligence applied to insurance distribution enables insurance players to be proactive by offering their customers a fluid and personalized experience, whether on digital or physical channels. Zelros solutions are used daily by European insurers, mutuals, banks and brokers such as BPCE, Groupama, MAIF, Crédit Agricole, Matmut, Baloise Group, HDI, AssurOne, +Simple and Natixis Assurance.

Zelros has been recognized by Frost & Sullivan analysts as a leader in the “AI-based Advanced Insurance Distribution” category. In addition, it organizes the largest European Machine Learning challenge every year: Data Science Olympics.

The Matmut-Zelros partnership

The Matmut Group has embarked on this partnership in order to make the work of its advisors more fluid on a daily basis and to provide them with greater comfort in their advisory role, thus enabling them to continuously improve the service provided to its members. David Quantin, Deputy Managing Director of the Matmut Group, in charge of Organization, Information Systems and Innovation, states:

“Our conception, within the Matmut Group, is that the innovations deployed, whether directly in the services and offers proposed to our members, or internally, in the service of those who are directly in contact with them, must provide real added value. As a mutual company, the member is at the heart of our concerns.

The augmented advisor

The Zelros software was tested during a pilot phase with some fifty Matmut advisors, which proved to be conclusive, leading the Matmut Group to extend this augmented advisor solution to all its distribution networks.

The latter is based on a technological solution based on AI and algorithms applied to structured or unstructured data sources, capable of optimizing the work of Matmut advisors and improving the experience of the group’s customers. The advisors are equipped with an application integrated with their tools.

The application created by Zelros makes it possible to target the events of the customers’ lives, ask the right questions to gather their needs and use sales arguments to highlight the key values of the insurer’s offers. It is even possible for the latter to create different flows depending on the experience level of the advisor (expert or novice). Christophe Bourguignat, co-founder and CEO of Zelros, explains:

“At Zelros, we are fully dedicated to developing responsible AI-based technologies to improve and advance the insurance industry. We want to empower the incumbent players in the ecosystem to close the gap between consumer expectations and their ability to transform. That’s why we are proud to contribute to the innovations deployed within Matmut.”

The partnership will allow the Matmut Group to benefit from all of Zelros’ proven solutions including the Documents API solution. Based on automatic document recognition and reading (RAD LAD) capabilities, Zelros technology automates the large-scale processing of low-value tasks.
The two companies are committed to a multi-year co-innovation approach based on various business use cases, centered on the following premise: ” Improving the advisor’s experience will improve the member’s experience.
