Amazon est un groupe technologique présent dans le commerce en ligne, les services cloud, le divertissement et les appareils connectés. Dirigé par Andy Jassy, il développe des usages de l’intelligence artificielle pour ses clients et ses opérations. Sa filiale Amazon Web Services (AWS) fournit notamment des infrastructures de calcul, les puces Trainium et le service Amazon Bedrock, qui donne accès à des modèles d’IA. Amazon est à la fois investisseur et partenaire industriel d’Anthropic depuis 2023. Le 20 avril 2026, Anthropic annonce un accord prévoyant plus de 100 milliards de dollars de dépenses en technologies AWS sur dix ans et jusqu’à 5 gigawatts de capacité de calcul supplémentaire. Amazon annonce alors un nouvel investissement de 5 milliards de dollars, s’ajoutant aux 8 milliards précédents, ainsi que la possibilité d’investir jusqu’à 20 milliards supplémentaires. Ces montants annoncés distinguent les dépenses d’infrastructure du financement en capital.
