Thanks to the SNIA, France has established itself as a European leader in AI research and innovation. The country now ranks fifth in the Global AI Index and third in the Stanford AI Vibrancy Ranking. This strategic positioning attracts international investments and collaborations with global tech giants such as OpenAI, Google, and Meta.
The SNIA also plays a crucial role in structuring the AI ecosystem in France, promoting cooperation between the public and private sectors, and supporting startups and deeptech projects. AI clusters, like the 3IA Côte d’Azur, enhance the scientific and industrial attractiveness of the country.
In 2024, the PEPR IA was launched to accelerate AI research through themes such as frugal AI and trustworthy AI. This program aims to remove barriers to AI deployment and stimulate interdisciplinary innovation.
Furthermore, the IA Eco-Pilot project has been selected to demonstrate the effectiveness of frugal AI in energy management of buildings, thus contributing to France's ecological transition objectives. This project illustrates SNIA's commitment to integrating AI solutions in key sectors to address climate challenges.
Finally, the IA-Biodiv challenge, supported by the ANR, highlights the application of AI for marine biodiversity preservation. This international challenge mobilizes multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative predictive models for the conservation of marine ecosystems.
