The IT company Atos announced yesterday the signing of a strategic partnership with Esri, a pioneering company in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) software, geolocation, and mapping. This collaboration, which will be based on Esri's ArcGIS platform and the AI and 3D modeling solutions developed by Atos, aims to enhance the offerings of both companies in markets related to digital twins of territories and infrastructures.
Founded in 1969 and based in Redlands, California, Esri (Environmental Systems Research Institute) develops solutions that transform geospatial data into actionable information for decision-making. Its ArcGIS platform, used by Fortune 500 companies, governments, and academic organizations, is the leading GIS mapping software in the global market.
By combining its expertise in mapping and geospatial analysis with Atos's expertise in 3D system modeling and digital twin development, this partnership paves the way for a new generation of decision-support tools aimed at both public and private sectors. To facilitate their adoption, Esri will support Atos and its clients through dedicated technical support, as well as training and certifications. The two partners will be able to collaborate on existing and future projects based on the specific needs of clients.

Targeted Application Areas

The partnership between Atos and Esri aims to offer innovative solutions for various sectors:
  • Public sector: assisting local communities in territorial planning and climate risk management, supporting governments in infrastructure planning and natural resource monitoring;
  • Private sector: customized solutions for industry, networks, and commerce, particularly in the areas of BIM, logistics, and flow management;
  • Defense and security: tools for advanced geospatial identification and humanitarian crisis management;
  • Emergency response: real-time analysis of disaster-affected areas and logistics management in case of catastrophes.
Laurent Clergue, Director of Inno’Labs, Atos, concludes:
"We are delighted with the signing of this partnership with Esri, the global leader in mapping data, which solidifies Atos's position in geolocated data mastery and geomatic tools. The combination of our respective expertise opens up a new field of opportunities and allows us to enhance our knowledge in data and AI, and bring our clients the best of our technologies in simulating natural and human environments, sustainable development, urban planning, or crisis management."
