Dassault Systèmes Leverages AI and Digital Twins to Strengthen Growth Amidst a Tense Environment

TLDR : Despite a challenging economic context, Dassault Systèmes confirms its growth objectives, supported by the adoption of its 3DEXPERIENCE platform. The company is expanding its activities into strategic areas such as data centers and regulation, using AI tools to improve data center efficiency and automate reporting functions.

Despite a challenging macroeconomic context, marked by persistent geopolitical tensions, structural inflation, and increased competition in engineering software, Dassault Systèmes confirms its growth targets for 2025, with a 6% increase in the second quarter at constant exchange rates. This dynamic is notably supported by the adoption of its 3DEXPERIENCE platform, which is growing by 20%.
Historically established in the industrial, transportation, and defense sectors, Dassault Systèmes is strengthening its foothold in these areas while expanding its efforts into strategic segments such as AI-dedicated data centers, regulatory compliance, and data governance.
According to Pascal Daloz, the company's General Manager, the 3D UNIV+RSES approach (an acronym for Responsible, Safe, Explainable Systems), unveiled in February during the Capital Markets Day, opens "new promising markets such as regulation and compliance management". Designed to integrate modeling, simulation, real-world data, and AI-generated content, these modules aim to equip ESG traceability and automate reporting functions, while ensuring the protection of intellectual property within the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
The 3D UNIV+RSES environment will soon be complemented by the Ascon Qube technology, developed by the German Ascon Systems Holding GmbH, whose acquisition by Dassault Systèmes was announced in early July. This low-code, SaaS-ready, and edge-to-cloud compatible platform allows the planning, simulation, control, and real-time adjustment of industrial processes.

Addressing Data Center Sustainability Challenges with Virtual Twins

Data centers today represent nearly 3% of the world's electrical consumption, a percentage that could rise to 8% within five years, driven by the growth of AI and the cloud. Their cooling circuits are also very water-intensive, often using potable water, increasing environmental pressure.
Dassault Systèmes' digital twins, deployed via 3DEXPERIENCE, enable the optimization of the entire lifecycle of next-generation data centers, from planning to operation, including design and construction phases.
Operators can simulate all the systems of the center (servers, air conditioning, electrical networks...), allowing them to anticipate technical problems and adjust installations even before their physical realization. Once in operation, real data from the data center feeds the digital twin. It then becomes a continuous management tool, allowing for monitoring, analyzing, and adjusting operations to improve energy efficiency (PUE), reduce operating costs, and limit the water footprint.
These advances in the field of AI should contribute to the growth objectives announced by Dassault Systèmes for the third quarter of 2025, ranging from 5% to 8% at constant exchange rates compared to the same period in 2024.
