Spécialiste en data mining et big data, Françoise Soulié-Fogelman s'est formée à l'ENS et a obtenu son doctorat à l'Université de Grenoble. Mathématicienne informaticienne et elle a enseigné à l'Université Paris XI-Orsay où elle a supervisé 20 thèses. Elle a fondée la société Mimetics, spécialisée dans les logiciels data mining pour la lecture automatique de caractères (OCR), a travaillé pour Atos Origin et fait partie de l'équipe de direction de KXEN jusqu'à son rachat par SAP. Elle a ensuite rejoint l'Institut Mines Télécom pour travailler sur TeraLab. Elle est à la tête de l'équipe Data Science de l'école de Computer Software de l'Université de Tianjin en Chine.
