Inria and DFKI organize their first European summer school on artificial intelligence

Inria and the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) are organizing a European summer school on artificial intelligence that will take place from July 20 to 23, 2021 at the Inria Saclay – Île-de-France center. This event is part of the national partnership between the two institutions, which aims to support joint research actions in artificial intelligence.

Inria and the DFKI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in January 2020, on the first anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Aachen, to conduct joint work in artificial intelligence. As part of this partnership, the two institutes are launching a series of summer schools on the subject of AI this year.

This first edition will address the following topics: AI for trust and AI for medicine. At the same time, it will offer an ideal framework for exchanges between participants and experts. Participants will have the opportunity to present their respective work in dedicated sessions. The two themes of this summer school will be treated in parallel sessions, while keeping common times to facilitate exchanges.

The IDAI summer school targets primarily PhD students working on all aspects of AI (machine learning, knowledge representation and reasoning, search and optimization, planning and scheduling, multi-agent systems, natural language processing, robotics, computer vision…). However, this summer school also wants to invite PhD students from other fields as well as post-docs and researchers working in industry to learn more about the world of AI. It is possible to register until April 19, 2021 on the IDAI website, knowing that only fifty people can attend each of the two topics.
