Deep AI: Milestone Systems and Nvidia Announce Technology Partnership in France on Video

This is an important partnership that Milestone Systems, a provider of open platform VMS IP video management software and Nvidia have signed. This new partnership between Nvidia and Milestone Systems should accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence in IP video technology, notably through the development of a unique gateway between the two platforms: Milestone XProtect & NVidia Metropolis / EGX.

Turning data into action and boosting the performance of video analysis and prediction is the objective of this ambitious partnership between two major players in video. Milestone and Nvidia intend to develop a platform that will provide better analysis of data from sensors connected to Milestone Systems’ open Video Management Systems (VMS) by facilitating the integration of AI solutions.

The technology, based on Nvidia’s Metropolis platform, will facilitate natural integration between the two companies through the creation of a secure platform. It will enable the transformation of data into action and will be available globally.

This technological innovation is all the more expected in France as important events will take place there: Rugby World Cup in 2023, Olympic Games 2024. On the other hand, investments in AI are very important as Rémy Deutschler, CEO France of Milestone Systems, has well understood:

“Our open platform unleashes the technological possibilities around video, to enable it to solve challenges that have a scope that goes far beyond security. To go even further in our innovation approach, we wanted to partner with the leader in Deep AI to enable our customers to transform data into action, to accelerate use cases! The association with Nvidia was a natural one for us and we will work together to develop a specific platform in France to link our two technologies.”

For Christophe Legrand, Country Leader of Nvidia Enterprise France:

“The synergies with Milestone seemed obvious to us more than 3 years ago already and today we are meeting on a common technological and business strategy: that of allowing video to express its full potential thanks to AI. While all markets are concerned by the superpowers offered by video analytics, we will initially target the ‘Smart Space’ market, intelligent spaces.”

Since 2017, Nvidia has developed Metropolis, a platform that aims to make cities safer and smarter. It supports them in their integration and adaptation to AI. In a smart-city, or connected city, the aim is to improve the quality of life of city dwellers using new technologies. The major issues are environmental, economic and societal. If we add AI to these technologies, the analysis of data from these intelligent sensors will optimize the quality of tomorrow’s services.

This alliance between Milestone and Nvidia in France is intended to be very flexible and will be able to integrate additional functions and new technologies, it allows to operate more efficiently using video and artificial intelligence. It is presented as unique because it links the most widely deployed sensor network with AI interpretation and prediction. Remy Deutschler states in this regard:

“This innovation-based collaboration is the beginning of everything! Thanks to the incredible technological investments made over the last 10 years, it is now possible for us, together, to automate data management while ensuring its full sovereignty and protection, to increase performance thanks to the democratization of GPU power and by reducing TCO. In short, to really democratize the combined use of AI with video.”
