Acquisition of Talentsoft: how Cegid hopes to improve its HR & Payroll offering

Cegid, the business management solutions company, has entered into exclusive negotiations to acquire Talentsoft, which specialises in Cloud Talent Management solutions. This acquisition is part of Cegid’s objective to strengthen its position in the Payroll and Human Resources Management market. International development also seems to be a priority since Talensoft is present in Europe, North America and Latin America.

Cegid has 3,000 employees and markets its solutions in 75 countries. The company, which supports the digitalisation of companies and public authorities, achieved a turnover of 498 million euros. The acquisition of the Cloud Talent Management solutions structure will enable Cegid to expand its existing offering thanks to their offer, which appears to be adapted to the needs of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and Intermediate-sized Enterprises (IMEs), which are targeted by Cegid. Founded in 2007, TalentSoft is one of the flagships of FrenchTech and a European leader in HR Tech. Headed by Jean-Stéphane Arcis (CEO), Joël Bentolila (CTO) and Alexandre Pachulski (CPO), the company has raised around €100 million since its creation and has not gone unnoticed by the global HR giants.

Pascal Houillon, CEO of Cegid commented on the potential acquisition:

“The acquisition of Talentsoft will enable us to accelerate our strategy to serve Human Resources customers, which is one of Cegid’s five priority markets. By combining our two companies, Talentsoft and Cegid will become a leading group with revenues of more than 600 million euros. Our vision, the strength of our two brands, the performance of the combined product portfolio, the talent of our respective teams and our culture of co-creation and entrepreneurship, as well as our common expertise with more than 80% of our combined revenues in the Cloud, constitute a tremendous opportunity. Through this combination, we will give our customers access to a wide range of useful and innovative solutions in France and internationally.”

Jean-Stéphane Arcis, CEO of Talensoft also refers to a possible merger:

“This merger comes at an ideal time in Talentsoft’s development. Driven by strong growth in recent years and more than ever motivated by the desire to support our clients in their digital HR transformation and to bring out the best in all their talents, we are delighted to join Cegid, also an expert in the human resources market. The synergies are obvious, both in terms of the solutions we offer and the geographical areas in which we operate. With Cegid, we will strive to continue this magnificent adventure, which is a great source of pride, in the service of our customers and in the conquest of new markets.

Several of Cegid’s shareholders, such as Silver Lake EMEA and Talentsoft’s shareholders, such as BPI, Highland Europe, Goldman Sachs, Seventure and TempoCap, have expressed their satisfaction with a possible merger of the two groups.
