The educational platform Wiloki raises one million euros from Invus

The Wiloki platform has announced that it has raised €1 million from the Invus investment fund. The personalised educational tool, enriched with artificial intelligence, intends to develop in Europe and enrich its educational content offer. Founded almost three years ago, Wiloki offers an innovative and “motivating” platform for children and teenagers aged 7 to 14.

A personalized educational platform

The educational support platform was created in 2018 by Manon, Thibaut and Hugo Oskian, all three from Les Loges-en-Josas in the Yvelines. The creation of this tool was motivated by three objectives:

  • Innovative technology based on artificial intelligence algorithms to adapt teaching methods to each child’s profile.
  • Multiple motivational tools (gamification, social learning, encouragement, challenges, etc.) to give children a taste for learning.
  • Tools and a production method developed in-house and in partnership with education professionals to ensure quality content.

Marion Oskian, CEO and co-founder of the Wiloki project explained the implementation of these objectives:

“Our first two years of existence allowed us to develop a complete product and test our algorithms and market demand. From the launch, word of mouth worked and thousands of Wilokians joined us. Most importantly, the model works: they progress and enjoy learning with Wiloki.”

Today, the platform is used by more than 700,000 children aged 7 to 14. Thanks to this massive usage, the app has been able to analyze hundreds of millions of data intended to adapt the content of exercises and lessons for each child.

A fundraising to promote several areas of development

Wiloki has raised one million euros from Invus. This fundraising will allow the implementation of three areas of development:

  • To further enrich its educational content offer: Wiloki already offers thousands of video lessons and exercises in all major subjects, interactive podcasts, general knowledge quizzes, etc. The team intends to take advantage of this acceleration to strengthen its content production system while diversifying its content offering with innovative and increasingly immersive and interactive learning modules.
  • Developing its technology for ever more personalized and motivating learning: Wiloki relies on scalable algorithms and hierarchical and modular content to adapt the learning path to each child. These algorithms analyze massive amounts of information and propose the most relevant content to the child, designed by experts. This technology will be reinforced for 100% adaptive learning to complement the traditional school curriculum,
  • Prepare the internationalization of its offer to open to the European market within 2 years.

This financing by Invus comes at the right time for Wiloki as Marion Osikan explains in her comments:

“Strengthened by our initial successes, we must now accelerate our growth. In this booming market, which is expected to double in the next 3 years, and for this first round of funding, we wanted to join forces with a partner who could accompany us over the long term and with whom we felt a real affinity.”
