SKEMA will deploy AI in its programs and campuses while focusing on hybridization.

Last year, SKEMA Business School unveiled an ambitious strategic plan for the period 2020-2025. One year later, the group is in a position to announce several concrete advances, notably in artificial intelligence with the creation of an AI faculty, two AI specializations and a new Specialized Master’s program.

Forerunner in 2019 with the opening of an AI research centre in Montreal, SKEMA has decided to step up the pace with the creation of the SKEMA AI Institute, a global system that brings together some twenty professors and experts around AI and deploys the school’s AI strategy – from research to concrete applications in all of the school’s programmes – while drawing on the territories and ecosystems of its various campuses in France and abroad.

In this context, the historic cooperation with the UCA (University Côte d’Azur) and more particularly the Institut 3IA Côte d’Azur should be highlighted. For Alice Guilhon, Managing Director of SKEMA Business School :

“It was essential to introduce AI into all SKEMA’s academic programs. This is even one of the pillars of SKY25: it’s what we call hybridization. This hybridization is one of the levers of our ambition: to become the school of the Avant-Garde by offering the hybridization of 100% of our programs: AI at the service of the business world”.

Among the advances in AI, we will note :

  • The constitution of a SKEMA “IA Faculty”, composed of more than 20 professors and researchers divided into 4 interdisciplinary fields: IA Fundamentals; IA, Economics & Finance; IA, Marketing & Management; IA, Operations, Supply Chain & Information Systems.
  • The integration of an “IA” specialization within the 4-year post-bac program: “SKEMA Global BBA”, on the Sophia-Antipolis and Raleigh (USA) campuses.
  • The implementation of the “AI for managers” specialization within the Grande Ecole Program under the direction of Professor Davide La Torre, Director of the SKEMA AI Institute.
  • The launch of a new Specialized Master® program for “AI project managers” in the fall of 2021, currently in the process of being approved by the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles.

To date, more than 70% of SKEMA’s programmes incorporate the AI dimension in their teaching. With SKEMA AI Institute and its new programmes, the school is the precursor of what will eventually become a specific entity under the name “SKEMA AI School for Business”.
