This week will be held IAPAU, the festival Machine learning, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. The organisers, the IA Pau association, the LumenAi company and the Hélioparc technopark, are proposing two themes for this third 100% online edition: the impact of AI on tomorrow’s society and the use of AI for the environment.
The IA Pau event is becoming a reference of the domain in New-Aquitaine but also at a national level. The three days of IA PAU will therefore be dedicated to AI, data science and Machine Learning, and the Friday conferences will be open to all.
“We chose to create IAPAU 3 years ago to offer the territory a moment of sharing around a major scientific progress of this 21st century: artificial intelligence. This year, we have decided to continue the adventure, by offering you a 100% digital event, because today we can’t know what tomorrow will bring. Many innovations will be proposed to you to keep this spirit of openness and this atmosphere and conviviality which is dear to us.
We have also chosen to take a step back from artificial intelligence technologies and ask ourselves what place AI will have in the world of tomorrow. This is why the two themes chosen this year are not directly scientific or technological, but societal: AI and Society and AI and Environment,” explained the organisers.
Also worth noting is the Data Challenge, which will be held over the weekend of December 5-6. More than 250 students from the French-speaking world will take part in this challenge and will try to solve problems posed by industrialists and associations. They will attempt to win the 20,000€ to be won, including the 5,000€ Prix Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine “Numérique Responsable”.
This year, participants will be looking at the following topics:
- Traitement Automatique des Langues Occitanes (The Permanent Congress of the Occitan Language)
- Detection of duplicate images (Total)
- Prediction of the quantities of gas to be transported and exchanged (Teréga)
- Real-time tactical recommendation system (Elan Béarnais Pau Lacq Orthez)
