As a place for training but also a place for open exchanges on society, aivancity is launching its e-learning platform aivancityX, based on the reference open-source platform edX (created by MIT and Harvard in 2012). aivancityX produces and distributes MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) and SPOCs (Small Private Online Courses) in line with its hybrid positioning allowing to connect the technological dimensions of AI & Data science; business; and ethics.

Designed by aivancity’s professors and experts, aivancityX training courses benefit from the same pedagogical engineering as the “face-to-face” programmes and offer great modularity and flexibility for learners. The free courses, certification programmes and, eventually, the 100% online diploma programmes that are/will be offered there contribute to meeting the many challenges that massive data and artificial intelligence raise for companies and society.

From its launch, aivancityX offers one MOOC and 5 certifying SPOCs, 4 of which are offered in English in order to reach a large and international audience. On the menu, AI Strategy for Business, Strategic and Ethical Issues of Autonomous Cars, Optimizing and Innovating with AI, Ethical and Societal Considerations of AI, Mathematics for AI and Data Science and AI in the Challenge of Art. Several other courses are also being designed.

The first MOOC of aivancityX, which will start in February, is dedicated to the moral and ethical issues raised by autonomous cars. It is one of the only, if not the only, in the world to deal with this subject. The SPOC dedicated to optimization and innovation with AI is the most complete certificate available to date.

The MOOCs offered on the platform are free (certification is charged at 150€) and the SPOCs are offered from 900€ to 1800€.

Autonomous vehicles are one of the most promising applications of artificial intelligence and are expected to have a considerable impact on industries, societies and people’s daily lives. But autonomous vehicles are not just a new technology: they come with major challenges, in particular the issue of responsibility. Through innovative pedagogical methods, including dynamic case studies and different levels of complexity to best adapt to each person’s background and level of commitment, this MOOC will present the main issues currently being debated by philosophers, regulators and industrialists.

In most job interviews for a data scientist position, candidates are tested on their mathematical knowledge. This is no coincidence: data science software such as scikitlearn, tensorflow or pytorch are very powerful and fairly easy to use, but if you don’t master the mathematical principles that guide them, you can create unstable artificial intelligence or impact-biased solutions. In this course, you will learn the basics of mathematics you need to become a good data scientist: linear algebra, statistics, calculus and convex optimization, all of which will be explained to you.
