The start-up Move.ai joins the LeStudio program, LaSource’s gas pedal

At the end of June, LaSource, a Paris-based BtoB agency focused on sports, digital and new technologies, announced that Move.ai, a London-based company with expertise in motion capture and augmented reality, would be the second start-up to join its LeStudio program, a gas pedal for promising technology companies…

LaSource is a consulting agency that aims to connect promising start-ups to European sports organizations (clubs, federations, leagues…) wishing to transform their business through innovative solutions and thus achieve their strategic goals. Its LeStudio gas pedal is dedicated to high-potential technology companies in the sports and entertainment industry.

Motion capture

A source of research for the past 50 years, motion capture is a technology that aims to record the movements of a person or an object to reproduce them in a virtual world. It is now used in movies, video games, and important artistic and sporting events, but is also a source of progress in other fields such as health.

Move.ai

Move.ai has developed a platform that captures human movement using advanced AI, computer vision, biomechanics and physics from mobile or fixed camera videos and transcribes it virtually. Thus, a standard capture volume of up to 10 mx 10 m can be created using only 4 to 8 cameras, allowing to track the movements of people (up to 5) but also those of the objects they interact with, for example a ball.

Move.ai will enable sports organizations to benefit from a fast and efficient solution, to improve their existing services and to generate more revenue. To date, Move has already conducted several tests with video game publishers and some sporting events, especially those related to soccer. Future tests in other sports fields are planned, such as tennis and boxing.

Anthony Ganjou, co-founder and CEO of Move, said:

“We are delighted to be working with LaSource to continue our expansion into the sports industry. We share the same vision on the future of this industry and working with them allows us to accelerate that transformation.”

LaSource, meanwhile, will provide the strategic and marketing skills needed to accelerate Move.ai’s positioning in Europe. Its Chief Strategy Officer, Jean-Baptiste Alliot, confirms:

“We are also excited to collaborate with Move and contribute to the future of audiovisual production and video game developments. At LaSource, we are convinced of the value that startups and their technologies bring to sports organizations to accelerate their development. Move is part of this dynamic and we look forward to presenting the solution to the various major players.”

David Goncalves, Chief Operating Officer of the agency, concludes:

“Move is a fast-growing startup that presents a revolutionary product. We now need to make the best use of it to generate value for organizations wishing to use it. This requires defining a clear and precise strategy and putting forward relevant use cases.”
