This theme has two Chairpersons: Marco LORENZI, Researcher at Inria and Olivier HUMBERT, Doctor and Professor at Université Côte d’Azur in Nuclear Medicine & Biophysics, who holds a chair in research and teaching at 3IA Côte d’Azur.

Marco LORENZI will be in charge of the morning session and will lead 4 sessions: a conference by Daniel RUECKERT from Imperial College London, on the evolution of radiology thanks to artificial intelligence as well as the presentation of three contributions the work of Gaëtan DESRUES, Researcher at INRIA, on 3D electromechanical modeling for the planning of cardiac resynchronization therapy; those of Justine LABORY, Université Côte d’Azur – MSI(Maison de la Modélisation, de la Simulation et des Interactions) on her project ABEILLE: a new method for identifying aberrant expressions; and finally, those of Sofia PATSALI, CNRS – GREDEG, on artificial intelligence in the service of innovation for hospital equipment manufacturers.

On the afternoon of November 23, Olivier HUMBERT will present 5 sessions. After a first lecture by Wiro NIESSEN, from the Erasmus Medical Center (University Medical Center of Rotterdam), three researchers will propose their contributions. First, Maria ROMERO-TERNERO, from the University of Seville, on her methodology for data collection, thanks to artificial intelligence, in the health field; then Zakaria BABUTSIDZE, from the Observatoire Français des Conjonctures Economiques and SKEMA Business School, on the prospects for acceptance of medical treatments augmented by artificial intelligence; and Benjamin MOLINET, from the Centre INRIA d’Université Côte d’Azur, on the models for explaining correct or incorrect diagnoses A final intervention will close this AI & Health session, that of Maxime SERMESANT, from the Centre INRIA d’Université Côte d’Azur, on artificial intelligence to develop error correction models.

AI & Biology (November 23, 2022)

The second theme of the first day of the 5th edition of the Soph.I.A Summit will be artificial intelligence for biology. Ellen VAN OBBERGHEN SCHILLING, Inserm Research Director, will be the Chair and will be in charge of 4 sessions.

The first one will be a round table on AI, RGPD, ethics and data security in which Olivier HUMBERT(previously mentioned) will participate. Then, Aurore LOISY, from the IRPHE multidisciplinary institute and the University of Marseille, will present her work on how to learn to act in situations of uncertainty, from the application to bioinspired olfactory research. Djampa KOZLOWSKI, from the Université Côte d’Azur – MSI, will unveil NERD, her tool for predicting the proteins involved in plant parasitism by nematodes. To conclude this theme and this day, Matej HLADIS, Université Côte d’Azur, will address the prediction of odorant receptor activation using protein language and graphical neural networks.

AI & Smart Territories, Security & Safety (November 24, 2022)

The second day of the Soph.I.A Summit will focus on artificial intelligence applied to smart territories and will be chaired by Pierre ALLIEZ, Director of Research at the INRIA Center of the Université Côte d’Azur.

Several sessions will be proposed in the framework of this theme. The first will be a conference byEmmanuel GOBERT, from the Ecole Polytechnique. Massimiliano PRONESTI, from Amadeus, will then present his research on sentiment analysis based on quantum computing for the travel industry. Then, Ioannis BRILAKIS, from the University of Cambridge, will give a lecture on digital twins. A second contribution will be unveiled, that of Ziming LIU, from the INRIA Center of the Côte d’Azur University, on a new approach to dense hybrid visual odometry with multi-masks. Finally, Pierre ALLIEZ will moderate a round table discussion before the presentation of two other works, including those of Simon NANTY, from Amadeus,

Sustainable AI (November 24, 2022)

Olena KUSHALOVSKA, Representative of ICAIR (Industrial Council for AI Research), will be in charge of the Chair on the challenges of sustainable and ethical artificial intelligence.

After a conference byErnesto DAMIANI, from the University of Milan, two researchers will present their work. First, Amal MTIBAA, from the Institut Mines Paristech, on the detection of refrigerant leaks in industrial refrigeration systems with steam compressors, then Angelo RODIO from the INRIA Center of the Université Côte d’Azur on federated learning from heterogeneous and correlated customer data.
This theme will conclude with a round table discussion moderated by journalist Muriel Valin of the EPSILOON magazine entitled “In AI, we Trust” and will include Olena KUSHAKOVSKA, Tony PINVILLE (HEURITECH), Khawla MALLAT (SAP), Othmane MARFOQ (Accenture) and Leanne KEMP (EVERLEDGER).

AI & Management (November 24, 2022)

At the end of the day, the theme of the relationship between management and artificial intelligence will be addressed and will be chaired by Jonas HOFFMAN and Ludovic DIBAGGIO, respectively Associate Professor in Marketing and Professor of Innovation Management at SKEMA Business School.
