The Nice metropolis launches two calls for projects on eco-responsible tourism and artificial intelligence

As part of its economic and employment policy, the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis is launching two calls for projects. The first is a call for expressions of interest for companies in the field of eco-responsible tourism or those accompanying transformations in this sector. The second, more technological call for projects, focuses on artificial intelligence and the setting up of demonstrators. It is possible to apply up to and including July 30.

A call for projects to design demonstrators in the field of artificial intelligence

As part of its development policy, the Nice Côte d’Azur metropolis is launching a call for projects to set up demonstrators in the field of artificial intelligence in order to identify companies with relevant initiatives and to experiment with promising projects.

Two objectives are put forward by the metropolis:

  • To allow the companies to benefit from a showcase and to facilitate the marketing of their concept or their innovative product.
  • To showcase the know-how and economic dynamism of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis by promoting innovative products or processes developed by local companies.

This call for projects is aimed at companies in corporate form only (subsidiaries are not accepted), as well as associations specialized in the field of artificial intelligence. The projects presented must be part of the strategic sectors of the Nice Côte d’Azur territory, namely: health, eco-industry, mobility, cultural and creative industries and the intelligent city.

The selected projects will receive between 30,000 and 60,000 euros in funding.

Until July 30th included, it is possible to apply by sending an application by email to the following address: ceci@nicecotedazur.org, taking care to indicate in the subject of the email “AAP AI 2021 Demonstrator – Application of [name of the structure]”. The selected projects will have to be realized within a maximum of two years.

Here is the list of selection criteria that will allow the dedicated committee to judge the eligibility and the technical and economic relevance of the project:

  • Location: the company must have its headquarters in France and must commit to setting up in the Metropolis as part of the implementation of the demonstrator.
  • Technical relevance: The concrete implementation is evaluated according to its feasibility (complexity of implementation).
  • Belonging to a strategic sector: The project must be part of one of the strategic sectors defined by the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis.
  • Economic spin-offs: The demonstrator must identify the economic spin-offs in five years.
  • Social and environmental impact: Compliance with environmental and social standards must contribute to improving the quality of life of citizens, reducing environmental impact, etc.
  • Implementation timeframe: The project must be completed within 12 to 24 months.

The Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis will provide financial support of between 30,000 euros and 60,000 euros to the selected projects, depending on these six criteria and taking into account the complexity of the project as well as the economic impact of the demonstrator on the territory, particularly in terms of job creation.
