The call for projects “Artificial intelligence for an improved health system experience” is open until 1 June 2020.

The closure of the call for projects “Artificial intelligence for an improved experience of the health system” has been postponed to 1 June 2020 at 12:00 (noon) in view of the current crisis. The objective of this call is to support the most innovative projects for the improvement of the health system. The expected projects can be single or multi-partner: public establishment, company or associations.

Each selected project will be the subject of :

  • financial support set up by Bpifrance, of a maximum amount of 300K€ in the form of a grant for research and development expenses and for a project duration of between 12 and 24 months,
  • operational support from the Health Data Hub, which may include: support in accessing data, support for data collection and organisation, provision of computing and storage resources, and networking with other players in the ecosystem.

Expected projects

The expected projects can be single or multi-partner, private or public, and must fall within one of the two axes selected:

  • Development of applications based on artificial intelligence for professionals or patients
  • Development of population models for prevention or therapy based on innovative data analysis techniques.

The request for aid must be between 150 K€ and 300 K€ for a project duration of between 12 and 24 months.

Terms and conditions of support

The Health Data Hub will support the selected projects at all stages of their implementation by providing technical and human resources for a maximum period of one year (framing, support for institutional players and data producers, data collection, enhancement of results).

The funding provided under this call for projects will be in the form of state aid in the form of a grant.
For the proportion of eligible expenditure, the maximum rates of assistance are as follows :

Small business: 45%.
Average company: 35%.
Large company: 25%.
Public establishment in full costs: 40%.
Public establishments in additional costs: 100%.

For multi-partner projects, the application for funding will have to be made by a single Lead Partner from the private or public sector. The other project partners will have to contract with the project Lead Partner to cover the costs related to the project (these costs must be included in the category “subcontracting” in the Financial Annex).
