SYSTEMX integrates Milvue’s AI solution into its PACS to support medical imaging

Milvue, a company specializing in AI solutions for radiology, and SYSTEMX, a medical imaging software company, have announced a partnership. This partnership aims to integrate one of Milvue’s solutions called SmartUrgences into SYSTEMX’s PACS Backboneplatform. This integration is part of SYSTEMX’s technological innovation strategy.

SYSTEMX

and Milvue: two technology companies to help medical imaging
The SYSTEMX group was created in 2005. In its fifteen years of existence, it has developed several software solutions for medical imaging: XD Print for the creation and printing of personalised patient files, XD CD which allows medical examinations to be burned onto CDs or Backbone RIS, an ERP solution. Last year, the company acquired Penaranda Informatique with a view to strengthening its position in the RIS PACS market.

On their side, in 2016, several radiologists and polytechnicians had the idea to develop a solution for analyzing and sorting emergency X-rays with the aim of reducing delays and diagnostic errors in emergency rooms. This is how the conception of SmartUrgences began . In their momentum, these experts decided to create the company Milvue in July 2018 to offer AI solutions developed by radiologists for radiologists.

The following year, the firm officially presents SmartUrgences but also SmartPodo and SmartCoxo, automatic angle calculation solutions. The latter two received the SIMS research prize, while the former received Class 2a CE marking certification for 7 osteoarticular and pulmonary pathologies.

A partnership to integrate Milvue’s solution into SYSTEMX

‘s PACS
In a desire to pursue its strategy of technological innovation in the world of medical imaging, SYSTEMX and Milvue have signed a partnership so that Milvue’s SmartUrgences solution can be integrated into SYSTEMX’s PACS Backbone. Eddie ANOUFA, President of SYSTEMX, said of the signing of this partnership:

“No publisher of software solutions for radiology today can ignore the growing importance of algorithms and artificial intelligence. Milvue immediately stood out to us as a pragmatic decision support solution, easy to implement, likely to truly improve patient care and the productivity of our customers.”

Milvue’s tool enables real-time triage of osteoarticular and pulmonary exams requiring rapid radiological interpretation while providing explicit visualization of lesions and forming a pre-report. The Backbone PACS brings together several tools with the aim of offering radiologists a range of solutions that will enable them to save precious time in emergency and conventional radiology departments. Aïssa KHELIFA, CEO of Milvue, talks about the integration of his company’s solution within the SYSTEMX platform:

“The very successful integration achieved by Systemx in the PACS Backbone is an essential vector of productivity gains for radiologists, through the ultra-rapid availability of images analyzed by MILVUE, the documented report and the prioritization of examinations to be reviewed in the worlklist.”

In the future, SYSTEMX would like to see more applications join its Backbone PACS and patented automatic angle calculation solutions to enhance its platform.
