Hotels & Scheduling: French Tech start-up Skello raises €40 million to improve its scheduling automation solution

Skello, one of the French Tech start-ups, has announced that it has raised €40 million from the investment fund Partech. With this financing, the start-up hopes to improve its solution for optimizing and automating schedule management while developing new markets in Europe, particularly in Germany and Spain. This funding is the firm’s third after raising €6 million in 2018.

A start-up specializing in schedule automation

Founded in 2016 by Quitterie Mathelin-Moreaux, Emmanuelle Fauchier-Magnan and Samy Amar, Skello (also known as RH Tech) was born to solve the scheduling problems of restaurant and hotel owners. Despite the closure of many establishments during the health crisis, the historical HCR segment continues to grow for Skello. The structure has been able to diversify in the sectors by taking an interest in retail and health companies.

Currently, Skello offers a suite of tools to free management teams from time-consuming and repetitive tasks of staff organization while improving internal communication and work processes. The company’s ambition is to support all professionals in their HR management. Its latest innovation is Smart Planner, a solution for creating tailor-made schedules taking into account legal and contractual rules, work time allocation and workstation constraints.

Omri Benayoun, General Partner at Partech talks about the quality of Skello’s solution:

“In just a few years, Skello has developed the best field staff management and scheduling solution, acclaimed by its customers for its ease of use and superior automation capabilities.”

Fundraising to expand in Europe and improve its solutions

After obtaining an initial financing of 300 OOO euros, and then participating in a Series A round of 6 million euros in 2018, the start-up participated in a Series B round of financing for 40 million euros. The Partech fund joined the round alongside Skello’s two historical investors XAnge and Aglaé Ventures. Quitterie Mathelin-Moreaux, Co-founder & CEO of Skello, says of this new investment:

“This new round of funding marks a turning point in our development, and concretizes our initial ambitions: to make Skello available on a European scale, and to offer our solution to a maximum number of sectors.”

This financing should allow the firm to:

  • Continue its international expansion: Skello offers to accompany all professionals in their success in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Spain and Italy.
  • Offer more value in our tool by developing it: the company will continue to invest in our product to offer an ever more innovative experience.
  • Recruiting A Players and doubling the number of employees by 2022: by recruiting, the objective is to diversify the profiles and skills of our teams and to recruit international talent: 500 is the number of employees that will make up the Skello teams in two years.
