Casino Group joins forces with Accenture and Google Cloud to accelerate its digital transition

In order to accelerate its digital transition and adapt to the rapidly changing retail market, the Casino Group is joining forces with Accenture and Google Cloud. This strategic partnership will enable the company to accelerate its technological development by enriching the customer experience, improving operational efficiency and accelerating the international implementation of one of its subsidiaries specializing in data marketing solutions.

Enhancing the customer experience and operational efficiency

The alliance recently signed by Casino with Accenture and Google Cloud should enable Casino to accelerate its digital transition. Its first objective is to deploy innovative digital solutions within the group’s brands to enhance the customer experience and operational efficiency, drawing on the unique expertise of Google Cloud, particularly its machine learning and artificial intelligence data analysis solutions, and Accenture.

Jean-Charles Naouri, Chairman and CEO of Casino Group, said:

“This alliance with two major technology players marks another important step in the deployment of the Group’s digital strategy. It will enable us to accelerate on two of Casino Group’s priorities: on the one hand, to continue improving customer service via technological innovations such as AI applications and on the other hand, to accelerate the growth and value creation of our technology activities in data and software.”

The firm has nearly 11,000 stores around the world and 200,000 people working for the retailer. Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, says a technology partnership like this can set Casino apart from its competitors:

“Consumer expectations and retail operations have changed dramatically with the pandemic. Cloud technologies, including infrastructure and security, data analytics, and AI and machine learning – combined with training and acculturation programs, are going to be critical for businesses that want to take advantage of these changes. We are delighted to be working with Groupe Casino and RelevanC to help drive their digital development and define growth opportunities for brands and the entire retail sector.”

Accelerating RelevanC’s international development and implementation

The second objective of this collaboration between Google Cloud, Accenture and the Casino Group focuses on the B To B activities of the French retail giant. The aim is to accelerate the development of RelevanC, a subsidiary of the Group that sells data marketing solutions, by benefiting from the commercial and technological support of Google Cloud and Accenture with their international clients.

Cyril Bourgois, CEO of RelevanC, said:

“This alliance will give RelevanC the opportunity to confirm its leadership position by accelerating its international development thanks to the reference players that are Accenture and Google Cloud.”

Founded four years ago, the Casino Group subsidiary markets data solutions. It specializes in digital marketing and offers technological tools to retail players to accelerate the processing and use of their data. Jean-Marc Ollagnier, Accenture’s Managing Director for Europe, concludes by mentioning the new prominence of the cloud and AI in the retail sector:

“Our collaboration with Casino Group, RelevanC, and Google Cloud will accelerate the use of disruptive technologies such as cloud and artificial intelligence within Casino Group and across the retail sector. Accenture will provide support from its Cloud First multiservice group and global network of innovation centers, combined with its deep industry knowledge. Mastery of these technologies is critical to enable retail players to quickly respond to the new challenges that result from the acceleration of digital and the ever-changing expectations of consumers; this mastery will notably enable the creation of new services and new revenue streams.”
