Boston Limited wins £3.5 million contract in the AI and HPC market

On July 28, 2CRSI, a designer and manufacturer of high-performance energy-efficient IT solutions, announced that one of its companies, Boston Limited, had won a contract worth 3.5 million pounds, or 4,179,700 euros. However, the group did not reveal the identity of the company with which the contract was signed.

It was in November 2019 that the Strasbourg-based group 2CRSi had announced the acquisition of Boston Limited, a company founded in 1992 in London, specializing in the integration, marketing and commercialization of high-end IT equipment.

2CRSi had thus accelerated its commercial deployment since Boston Limited’s sales representatives operate in more than 40 countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, South Africa, Australia, India and Russia. The company was also able to reach new markets as Boston Limited’s portfolio covers a wide range of sectors, including AI, high-performance computing (HPC), television and streaming, visual effects (VFX), VR and gaming.

Alain Wilmouth, Founder and CEO of 2CRSi, said at the time:

“We are very pleased and proud to announce the acquisition of Boston Limited and the integration of its teams and management into the 2CRSi group. This transaction is the result of a long-standing joint effort based on mutual trust, historical relationships and shared values rooted in the demand for performance and innovation. This acquisition marks a major step for our group: 2CRSi is now changing dimension and considerably expanding its development potential!

Boston Limited has been chosen by one of Europe’s largest engineering companies to design, build and deploy a state-of-the-art infrastructure to increase its capacity in AI and High Performance Computing (HPC).

The solution provided will combine the HPC capabilities of AMD EPYC™ processors and the NVIDIA® DGX A100 high-end system. This will enable Boston to augment this new customer’s proprietary algorithm management and training capabilities.

Thanks to the Group’s current inventory, this order will be fully delivered before August 15 and will support the customer’s growth over the next 2 years.

Manoj Nayee, co-founder of Boston Limited, states:

“With the current shortages, this order demonstrates how critical availability has become. Thanks to excellent planning, as well as the group’s key partners including Supermicro, AMD and NVIDIA, we were able to prepare and hold sufficient inventory. This allowed us to prioritize our customers’ needs and support new customers – a just-in-case strategy that our competitors have not adopted.”

A case study will be released over the summer, testifying to Boston Limited’s expertise and 2CRSi Group’s capabilities in serving large enterprises within the HPC and AI ecosystem.
