Advanced Computing and Artificial Intelligence: Atos and GENCI launch the Joseph Fourier 2021 Prize

Atos and GENCI launched the Joseph Fourier 2021 Prize this week. It will reward an individual or a team for the excellence of work carried out in a French laboratory, whether public or private. This prize aims to accelerate research and innovation in two key areas for society: Advanced Computing and Artificial Intelligence, with a particular focus on Decarbonation.

The Atos – Joseph Fourier 2021 Prize will provide each field with a prize of €10,000 and will distinguish the winners by granting them up to 200,000 CPU hours of machine time on GENCI supercomputers.

Applications must be submitted by April 30, 2021. The awards ceremony will be held in June, in a format adapted to the health measures in force at that time.

The Atos – Joseph Fourier Prize was launched for the first time in France in 2009 by Bull, which is now part of Atos, and GENCI. The prize pays tribute to the mathematician Joseph Fourier (1768 – 1830), whose work in the 18th century made a major contribution to the mathematical modeling of physical phenomena.
